Troubleshooting and repairing Common Problems

Loud Noises

The pump can create a humming sound if there’s a blockage or damaged housing. Usually this problem will require replacing parts, and not recommended as a DIY project. If it made this noise, then shut down it probably fried your motor.

Water Doesn’t Drain

This could be a simple fix if the drain screen got clogged in the bottom. This commonly occurs when washing dishes that were not rinsed off. However, if the drain is not clogged it could be a faulty pump or drainpipe.

Not Cleaning or Runs Too Long

If you notice the cycles are lasting longer than usual, it could be a sign that your timer or thermostat is going out. Whereas, dishes coming out partly cleaned or spotty can be an issue with the heating elements, or the spray arm holes, or impeller were not properly cleaned.

Won’t Fill or Stop Filling

If your able to turn it on, but it doesn’t fill this points to water draining faster than it should at that point. This could mean your water inlet valve or float needs replacing, or at the very least a good cleaning. Usually, the lower access panel has to be removed to access the float.

Although, reaching the inlet valve is a more complicated process and varies between brands. If your water inlet valve needs cleaned or replaced, it is best to call and let our skilled technicians handle it for you.
